Hi! I’m Sophie Smith and I live in San Francisco with my husband and our two rambunctious kids. I earned my degree in Psychology (“Mind, Brain and Behavior” track) at Harvard and then worked in data analytics in science labs, education non-profits, and the tech sector. I later fell in love with the world of pregnancy/birth and wanted to share my research and learnings with others.

I’m certified in prenatal yoga and enjoy snowboarding, hosting dinner parties and doing crosswords in my “spare” time (which has become at lot more “spare” recently!)

Fun fact: in 1959, my grandmother - Majorie Karmel - wrote the bestselling book “Thank You, Dr. Lamaze” which helped bring the Lamaze method (the first “natural childbirth method”) to the United States. While sadly I never had the chance to meet her, I like to think I’m carrying on her legacy in my work.
